This cat supplies list is based on products that I use every day to keep my single cat who lives in an apartment happy and healthy.

Cat enrichment supplies for a happy life
Enrichment is important because it nurtures our cat’s needs. This enrichment keeps them entertained instead of bored and lonely.
Desk-mounted perch – Ergo Purrch. This perch is great and saves on floor space since it mounts to a desk, table, etc. Jericho pops up on this purrch in the morning after he eats. He loves to groom, nap, and gaze out the window.
Climbing, perching, resting condo – The Cat Ladder on Etsy. We’ve had the Cat Ladder for years, and Jericho spends time on it daily. He loves to run up and down the ladder, stare out the window, and play on there.
Window perch – I bought Petco’s brand on Amazon, but it’s no longer available. There is a similar one on Chewy. Jericho loves catching a breeze on his window perch. I put it right next to his condo so he can run up and down and then plop on the perch.
Scratching post – Purrfect Post. Purrfect Post is really cool because it’s made by a vet. She wants to help prevent declawing cats so she made these very sturdy scratching posts. We’ve had it for 3 years before I needed to replace the base. I love that you can buy replacement parts instead of needing a whole new scratcher.
A stainless steel litter box is much more sanitary than plastic. And our cats prefer and deserve a clean litter box. I’ve had the same one for 8 years, and it still looks brand new! Clicker training kit – Cat School. My great friend and accountabilibuddy Julie and her cat Jones are the best cat training teachers! Jericho is food-motivated so clicker training him is easy. Fresh cat food for a healthy life
The best cat food is fresh, high moisture, high protein, and low carb. I’m including lightly cooked, raw, and whole prey options below. You can feed whatever you’re comfortable with!
Homemade is best because you control the ingredients and how it’s made. However, if your cat is eating dry food right now, I’d suggest transitioning to a complete and balanced healthy diet before switching to homemade.
Food mat – I bought mine on Chewy. I love using this mat because it’s very large. Jericho eats homemade raw and whole prey. So it’s easier to have him on the mat to eat everything there. Rather than dragging the whole prey around the floor. This food mat is much more sanitary and easier to wash than plastic dishes. It’s also flat which is better for cats to prevent whisker stress.
Food puzzle toys – Cat Amazing. This is a great way to bring hunting indoors. Working for food provides mental stimulation and keeps our cats happy. You can get Cat Amazing on Amazon and Chewy.
Food journal – I created and use this one. A food journal helps you stay organized instead of overwhelmed when you’re introducing new foods. I love this journal because I can track Jericho’s meals, appetite, energy, litter box, any important changes, and a free-form journal section all on one page. This was extremely helpful for me to pinpoint his food allergies as well.
Best cat food brands – these options are complete and balanced and recommended for beginners. Even if your end goal is homemade.
Smalls – lightly cooked fresh wet & freeze-dried puffs. Get the freeze-dried puffs if you’re feeding dry food.
