Use a HEPA filter vacuum with a furniture cleaning accessory to clean a cat condo easily. HEPA removes bacteria, dust, and mold.
We bought Jericho’s cat condo 7 years ago. And I haven’t cleaned it once!
So I’m testing my new vacuum to clean the condo for the first time since we bought it.
I don’t want to use any cleaning agents. I live in an apartment and can’t let the condo air dry in the sun.
So this easy hack of using a vacuum works best for me!

The cat condo we have
We have a basic multi-level grey carpeted cat condo. The one you can get from Amazon and Chewy.
Vacuum for cleaning the cat condo
I’m using Lubluelu’s L8 cordless stick vacuum to clean the cat condo.
I requested this vacuum specifically because it has ultimate anti-clogging, uses a HEPA filter, and works well with cat hair.
Everything comes apart and snaps into place easily.
It comes with accessories specifically for cleaning furniture. This is what I used to clean the cat condo.

How I cleaned the cat condo
I used Lubluelu’s furniture cleaning accessory to brush and vacuum the condo at the same time.
A lot of hair and dust got caught up on the brush bristles and didn’t make its way down into the vacuum. So I had to pull it off and push it through.
You will get better suction with the bristles pulled back. But it’s more difficult to move around on carpet since the suction is so strong.
So I’d still recommend using the brush bristles extended when cleaning your cat condo.
I vacuumed along all perches, landing areas, and inside the huts. It only took 10 minutes to clean the whole condo!
There was 7 years worth of dust, hair, and crumbs on that condo. Yuckie!
But I’m grateful I have this vacuum now. It was very easy to clean the condo, and it obviously did a great job.
I also used the same accessory to clean Jericho’s carpet cat scratcher.
Previously I was using a wool dust mop. But it didn’t get nearly as clean as this.
Lubluelu L8 vacuum review
Lubluelu’s L8 is a cordless stick vacuum. The stick accessory adjusts in size so you can make it taller or shorter.
It comes with other accessories for cleaning around your home and a removable, chargeable battery.
There are 3 power modes, but it’s powerful enough on the lowest setting for me.
Cleaning features
I’ve been using this to clean my apartment floors as well. It’s very convenient and picks up a lot of dust and hair.
The vacuum head swivels, and you can hold the stick flat on the floor to reach under the bed very easily.
The vacuum head has a light on it so you can see how dusty your floor really is as you’re cleaning it.
I vacuumed twice in a week and picked up so much dust and hair both times.
It would be nice if the vacuum head was a bit wider to cover more space. That would make vacuum time shorter.
However, the smaller size comes in handy when I’m cleaning tighter spaces so it works out.
Battery life
The battery comes out of the vacuum, and you plug it in to recharge it.
I was able to vacuum my 700-ish square foot apartment twice, clean the cat condo, and clean the cat scratcher on a full battery. That was about 1 hour of cleaning time altogether.
The battery was 50% charged when I received it. I charged it to 100 and then used it to clean everything.
The battery does take about 5 hours to charge if you let it get close to dying. There is an LED screen on top of the battery that displays how much battery power is left.
It will count down by 5s as you’re using it. So it will go down from 100 to 95 then to 90 and so on. The light will start to blink when you reach 10 warning you that it’s about to die.
Suction power
There are 3 power modes, but it’s powerful enough on the lowest setting for me.
The suction is so strong it was sucking up my area rugs.
It works well, but you just have to step down on the rugs while you vacuum. The rugs felt very soft and clean after vacuuming them.
It doesn’t seem like a strong suction when you’re vacuuming hard floors. But then you will notice that the floors feel and look much better when you’re done.
Cat-friendliness
The L8 model does come with anti-clogging and a HEPA filter which is great for hair. My hair and Jericho’s hair are all over the apartment. And this is great for cleaning up hair.
It isn’t too loud either. But, to be fair, Jericho is very confident and comfortable in his territory. So he isn’t spooked by cleaning noises. He’s very curious but just a bit cautious.
Jericho likes to sit and watch me clean lol.
Overall, great success with cleaning up dust and cat hair on the cat furniture and around my apartment!
