I’m having a lot of fun drawing these because they are so simple and so cute! It’s definitely boosting my confidence in my ability to draw. And you only need a few minutes a day.
I want to learn how to draw flowers, a cat, landscapes, fruit, and anything else that’s cute and fun. Follow along and get inspo and ideas from my daily art practice.

My very first colored pencil drawing – fruit & veggies, 4/30/26
It took quite a while for me to find an artist whose style matches what I like. I prefer a more cartoony-like style. I like that it looks real enough that you can tell what it is. But it still looks like a drawing.
I guess the word is whimsical? But I couldn’t find much when I searched for that. I went to Pinterest and finally found what I was looking for!

Then I used Google image search for other fruits and veggies. You’ll see that I added a few others like a pineapple, blueberries, grapes, watermelon, strawberries, and little almonds to fill in the gaps.
I like her style because it fits the cutesy, cartoony vibe that I’m going for. She does use mixed media like watercolor, gouache, and colored pencils. I would love to get into these media as well. But for now, I’m just using what I have and that’s just colored pencils.
Pretty flowers colored pencil drawing – 5/1/26
I had a lot of fun drawing these flowers. The colors are so pretty, and I like that it includes a variety of flowers. It’s great practice!

This one was more difficult than the previous flower drawing. I was trying to draw the pots then leaves then flowers. But I actually think drawing the flowers first then everything else is easier.

Cottagecore picnic colored pencil drawing – 5/5/26
This one was so much fun! I put avocados, tomatos, cilantro, and lime for my picnic. I’ve been making guacamole recently and thought that would be fun for a picnic. I also made the flowers purple because I think purple flowers are so pretty.

Food doodles – 5/6/26 & 5/7/26
I think I like drawing food the most. It just looks so cute! I love the cartoony look of it. But you can still tell that it’s food. Just a very cutesy version of food. It’s a lot of fun and helps me daydream about food that I don’t eat anymore lol.

I took a few days off from drawing because I didn’t go on the computer. And that’s ok! Sometimes I need a break from looking at screens. And for now I need references. As long as I pick it back up when I go back to the computer.
Baked goods drawing – 5/12/26

Yesterday’s drawing theme of baked goods inspired me to draw in a theme today. I chose Italian food because I miss eating pasta. Unfortunately, I can’t have the carbs lol so I’ll enjoy the food in my drawings!
