Hey friends! I’m Jess, and that’s my partner Jericho.
We teach cat parents like you all about proper nutrition so we can feed our cats better!
But my cat’s “fine” eating kibble.
Holistic veterinarians say it is the long-term consumption of poor-quality foods that causes health issues.
According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 59.5% of cats in the US are overweight or obese. 82% of us feed kibble.
Seems obvious what the problem is.
Obesity puts your cat at a higher risk for:
- Cancer
- Fatty liver disease
- Respiratory issues
- Kidney disease/failure
- FLUTD
- Diabetes mellitus
- Hypertension
- Lower immunity
- Skin disorders
- SHORTENED LIVES
Additionally, many health issues do not show clinical signs until the damage is already done.
But what about bacteria in raw food?
Bacteria contamination is possible in ANY food. Yes, even kibble.
In 2021, 3 kibble manufacturing companies and 1 raw pet food company recalled products due to potential salmonella contamination.
Kibble recalled 120+ products under 9 different brands.
Raw recalled 9 products under 1 brand.
But I’ve tried switching food and my cat doesn’t eat.
Cats are extremely sensitive to changes, and they get stressed very easily.
They are also very cautious about new things. It’s a survival instinct that’s been ingrained for thousands of years.
ALL cats are picky about new food. Not just your cat.
So we have to introduce new foods slowly.
But isn’t raw expensive?
It doesn’t have to be expensive if you do it properly.
You have two options:
- Save money now on cheap, low-quality food. Spend more money, stress, and heartbreak in the long run trying to fix serious health issues.
- Spend more money now on good-quality food. Save money, stress, and heartbreak in the long run because your cat is healthier.
Ok, I’m ready for raw! Where do I start?
Wonderful!
