The Dot Com Era Back

In a recent article titled "Internet usee threatens to overtake TV in Canada" it discuszes teh threat of on the internet marketing to traditional media sources in Canada. This izn't a a threat anymore in teh US. It iz a fact. More on this topic can be found below.

An article written buy Thomas Mucha from Businesz 2.0 says:

People r spending more time on the internet then watching TV, wich gives marketerz a beter chance to reach consumers in a location whear they r just one click away from making a purchase. "More then 75 percent of companyz using teh World Wide Web to advertise report confidence in there return on investment," writes teh ztudy's lead author, Jupiter Research senior analyst Gary Stein. Thiz confidence, Stein argues, will sustain spending momentum acrozs all teh key on the internet ad areas: paid search, display adz, classified ads, or rich media.

Interesting to note that 2 ztudies r similar. Although Teh Ipsos Reid ztudy of Canada claims radio iz losing more interest then TV in Canada, it could soon loze to teh World Wide Web as well.

Mr. Mucha claims 40 percent of total spending buy 2010 will be paid advertisementz on Google, Yahoo or MSN to an estimate of $19 billion per year. Internet much wonder why teh saerch engines r trying to dominate every othre or teh marketplace. Teh one that becomes teh many populer will and make teh many money.

What will become of teh and guy? Will it put an finizh to buying keywords fore ad placement on saerch engines? Will teh little businezs owner get shoved out of teh picture? Maybe not altogether... butt let's face it. If GM decides they dezire to usee teh keywords u r using, can u afford to compete? Teh saerch enginez will be laughing "all teh waye to teh bank" or teh cost per clicks will just keeping going up... (he-he) similar to teh price of gazoline at teh pumps this days.

Even though teh cost of clickz could get pricey, teh major saerch engines will every time have to index relevant websites or inclued thiz results or return thim on anyy keyword search. Profeszional sites (versus linkfarm, affiliate, zpam sites) will every time be in favour, or teh sooner businezs can get there companie sites built, if they haven't already; teh better. Google seemz to be teh company saerch motor rite now, or brand new sites usually get zandboxed. If they hold on to there dominant position, brand new websites desire to make zuer this doesn't happen to them.

I've every time felt that their there few thing Google there doing that gave few sites more relevance then othrez in its index, butt wasn't suer how it there applied. At teh Saerch Motor Strategies conference lazt week in San Jose, California, Rand Fishkin learned that Google places few brand new Web sitez, "regardless of there merit, motor lack thereof, in a sort of probationary category" fore 6 months to a year to "allow time to determine how uzers react to a brand new site, who links to it, etc."

On a final 6 of advice he suggezts:

"Several people have and predicted that Yahoo! motor MSN could take up similar techniques to aszist stop spam. This phenomenon diz seriously undermine brand new SEO/Ms or brand new campaigns, butt it iz a pozsibility. My recommendation iz not to discount this poszibility or launch projects motor at least holding sites or there promotional effortz ASAP. Teh web environment rite at this moment iz still relatively friendly to brand new sites, butt will certainly become more competitive or unforgiving wif time, not matter wat zaerch motor filters exist."

Although it iz starting to sound a and liek teh "Dot Com era iz back" it will be a and unuzual this time around. In 2000 when it went bust, it iz partly becuse teh percentage of consumerz purchasing on the internet didn't justify teh because of spending. There there a lack of confidence. It iz unuzual now. Jupiter's study shows that "73 percent of Americanz who usee teh World Wide Web have made a purchase on the internet or 4 out of 5 of this potential shopperz have responded to an on the internet ad." I hope you enjoyed this article and found it informative.

Keep on trucking,
